TRANSPORTATION
It's naturally easy to transport from İstanbul to Ocaklar, HOTEL BENAN.After two hour sea voyage from İstanbul to Bandırma, you may easily reach to Ocaklar with a car which takes half an hour from Bandırma.Our hotel is on the seaside of Ocaklar. ( Please click here for the ferry time table. ) And also; there are bus navigations periodically from Ankara,İstanbul, Eskişehir, Bursa and İzmir to Erdek.You may easily find and take your bus tickets from the bus offices in Ocaklar.Besides; it's possible to pass to Tekirdağ from Erdek by ferryboat.Ocaklar is far away 360 kms from İstanbul, 126 kms from Bursa, 270 kms from Eskişehir, 500 kms from Ankara and 280 kms from İzmir.



Tarih
Ocaklar's past lays upon to the ancient times.Misions, Frigyans and Dolians were the first habitants of the regions.And after then, it started to be called with the name of the King of Dolians: KYZIKOS.According to the famous historian Eusebius, the king Kyzikos built and managed the city 140 years after the Prophet Ibrahim.

between the remains of the ancient city.The miletoses and Persians attacked and invaded Kyzikos after the death of the king Kyzikos and the city was plundered by the Ionians attacks until the B.C 5th century.Kyzikos attached many attention during the Cesarian, Augustus and Tiberus periods.The region was in the sovereignty

                                     of Byzantium between 324 and 1072 years.After then , it naturally relayed and owing

                                     to the fair and tolerant behaviours of the Seljuks. From the date of 1261 The Turkish Trites effects started to be perceived on the region.The Kapıdağ Peninsula was invaded totally by Süleyman Shah on 1339.By the way , this invasion provided the transition of the Ottoman Empire to the Europe.The Kapıdağ Peninsula was attached to the Erdek as a part on 1851

 

 

 

Ocaklar is a naturally masterpiece of nature. The climate of Ocaklar is mild and fresh.Annualy average of weather degree is about 15 C.The hottest month is July and the degree rises up to 25 C.This Mediterranean mild climate makes Ocaklar as an ideal and imaginary habitable town

NATURE:

In Ocaklar; the woody and shrubbery environment up to 300 meters is remarkable.Another attractive feature of the region is high density of forests upon the 300 meters.There are also many olive trees.Oaken, Sycomore, black pine, l,me cehestnut, daphne, ash and poplar are the other tree species which can be seen.



SEA:
Ocaklar's sea and seaside are very clean. The main reasons are listed above:
--Keeping the hold of waste contamination from the sea.
--Lack of industrial systems around.
--The northeast wind blowing from the land to the sea cleans the seaside coast and so it takes the natural pollution in the sea.

 


The water pollution maximum limit (MPN) is 1000.According to this, the officials defined and declared the mentioned limit in Ocaklar is 30 (MPN).The salinity rate of the sea is nearly about 20%. Owing to the shallowness of the sea, even the one who do not know swimming can easily learn it.Also; it is possible to do a lot of water spoerts including even wind-surfing and amateur fishing.
